Lucilla's entry into the 2005 Lucilla FestivalOn Thursday 12 May 2005, Lucilla opened the running of the 40th Lucilla One-Act Play Festival with Relics by David Campton, produced by Esther Matthews.
When the curtain opened, there was a blackout, relieved only by a glowing UV outline of what appeared to be a room setting. When, after the opening music, the lights came up, this outline disappeared. As the play ended and the lights went down, the glowing UV outline reappeared. Esther Matthew's concept, brought to life by the talented Hilary Turner (assisted by Denvir Drury), so impressed the Adjudicator (Irene Rostron) that she awarded it the Harold O. Roberts Adjudicator’s Cup.
At the end of the 2005 Festival, Maureen Boase announced her 'retirement' from the role of Festival Organiser. Use THIS LINK to see a brief tribute to Maureen. |
