Seeds Of Doubt
A sparkling, modern, light comedy from the pen of Peter
Gordon.
Set in a suburban garden, this light-hearted comedy covers two
weeks in the lives of two sets of neighbours with very different attitudes.
While
Alan vainly tries to produce results from his vegetable plot and worries about
the state of his marriage to Claire, his work-shy neighbour Dave treats his
live-in lady like a Jill-of-all-work while he lounges in the garden drinking
beer. Preparations for Allan's imminent birthday involve two further
neighbours: Sarah, recently split from her husband, and nerdy-but-nice Derek.
Mysterious phone calls, marital misunderstandings and
goings-on in the garden, plus the trauma of that birthday, all help to
make this a most enjoyable play.
Anyone who ever tried to arrange a surprise birthday party
will identify with this Lucilla production!

About the author:
Peter Gordon was born in York in 1950. After leaving
Archbishop Holgates Grammar School he eventually went on to read for a degree
in Civil Engineering. His varied civil engineering career led him as far a
field as the Arabian Gulf, where he worked for several years. Peter has now
settled back in York, where he lives with his wife Janice and three incredibly
spoilt cats!
As well as writing, Peter has a keen interest in music;
until recently, he was regularly playing drums with a Leeds-based rock band.
Peter has always had an interest in writing but was a
'late convert' to stage work. His first play was published in 1990. To date,
he has written eight comedy plays and one psychological thriller.
