The Late Gordon Craig: Actor & ProducerSadly, Gordon died in December 2006. He will be sadly missed by all his friends at Lucilla. This page remains in memoriam. Gordon first joined the Center Players in Penny lane in 1952,
one of the members at that time being Leonard Rossiter before he
turned professional.
When the Penny Lane Community Center closed because of lack of funds, following American sponsorship being withdrawn, the group drifted for a time before settling at the YMCA on Mount Pleasant, after some years joining forces with East Wavertree Drama Group. Following guest appearances with Liverpool Little Theatre, Neptune Theatre Group and a move to North Liverpool, Gordon joined Lucilla in 1982. In all, Gordon has appeared in more than 87 three-act plays and numerous one-act plays.
He has produced plays such as Dial M for Murder,
Bus Stop, Arsenic and Old
Lace and Dead Ringer. Roles
played have ranged from Whitehall farce to Shakespeare. More recently, he has
been doing film work and he played the registrar at Hilary du Pre’s wedding in
the film Hilary and Jackie. He has
also appeared as an extra in the BBC's David
Copperfield More recently, Gordon has appeared in Sunday, The Forsyte Saga, Clocking Off and Nice Guy Eddie. There are also forthcoming appearances in and Hound of the Baskervilles, as well as doubling for Eric Sykes! Award: Best Character Actor in Talk of the Devil. Back to Talent at Lucilla! page |
