Kate writes:
I've always had a passionate interest in the Theatre since I was a
student at a teac
hers'
training college in Liverpool in 1962. I joined the College Drama Group
and took part in plays and workshops during the three years I was there.
Then I joined three different amateur companies, the Masque Players,
East Wavertree Players and the Neptune Theatre Company. In 1971 I joined
the Lucilla A.D.S. and since then I've been involved in numerous One Act and
Full Length Plays.
In 1986 I directed the Lucilla entry at the 21st Lucilla One Act Play
Festival entitled Cup Final, which to my great delight won the Lucilla
Cup, the main award of the Festival. After that Directing plays became
my prime interest. Last year when I directed our entry for the Lucilla
One Act Play Festival I was very proud of two of the members of the cast
who won Best Actor and Best Actress.
A few years ago I attended a weekend Directors Course led by Colin
Crowther, a professional director and a member of the Guild of Drama
Adjudicators.
I enjoy taking part in all aspects of Theatre including workshops,
play-readings, panto and revues.
The play 'Laying The Ghost' was the seventh major production I've
directed for Lucilla D.S. and it proved to be both a pleasurable as well
as a challenging experience.
