Wendy Stone,  Lucilla member and winner of  The Madge Sellers Cup for Best Actress, in the 2001 Lucilla Festival,

comes from good theatrical stock. Her father was a member of Liverpool’s Masque Players in the 1960s and Wendy herself carried on the family tradition by joining Lucilla D.S. in 1993. Since thePicture of Wendy Stonen she has acted in many one-act plays at the Lucilla Clubhouse, including an unbroken run of nine Christmas shows (she is hoping to reach ten before even considering a break), and in several three act plays at Crosby Civic Hall, including Neil Simon’s Plaza Suite, Noel Coward’s Blithe Spirit, Francis Durbridqe’s Suddenly At Home, and Murder In Play by Simon Brett.

Wendy won the Crosby Arts Association Cup for Best Under 21 performance at the Lucilla One Act Play Festival in 1996, and in 2001 went one better by winning the Madqe Sellars Cup for Best Actress.

As if acting does not keep her busy enough, she has also helped with set construction, props and organising social events at Lucilla House. She says, ‘The Lucilla has given me confidence to grow, not only as an actress but as a person. I love acting, and there’s no better place to do it, or better people to do it with, than the Lucilla.”
